Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
Description: A little larger than a sparrow, kingfishers are squat, have a big bill and a large head. Females and males have similar coloration, with males somewhat brighter, and females presenting with a green tinge on the blue back, and the wings greener than those in males. The length is 16-19 cm.
Habitat: This rare species lives by clear water, mainly by rivers, digging holes in cliffy banks.
